While the media gaze is focused on Karachi due to higher than expected temperatures and the ensuing deaths, people in Turbat where the mercury is touching 47 degree Centigrade are facing excessive loadshedding.
Since the entire Makran coast – including Turbat – is provided electricity from Iran, there is no shortage of electricity. But the four high power transmission pylons that were uprooted by a storm in Mand a couple of days ago could not be repaired and so people are forced to suffer this non-stop loadshedding. One can only request the authorities concerned to rectify the fault as early as possible.
