SIALKOT: The District Zakat and Ushr committee Wednesday distributed ‘dowry’ cheques among 50 people in a ceremony.
PML-N district president Idrees Ahmed Bajwa advocate, Chairman District Zakat committee Sialkot and others distributed cheques amounting Rs 20,000 each among 50 deserving people.
Addressing the ceremony Bajwa said a proposal would soon be forwarded to the Punjab government to increase the amount of the dowry fund.
