Benazir Bhutto was a true leader of the people but unfortunately anti-democratic forces did not let her to fulfill her mission of making Pakistan prosperous as they dissolved her governments twice.
Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Culture and Tourism Sharmila Farooqui said this on Sunday while paying glowing tribute to former PPP chairperson on her 62nd birth anniversary. She said Benazir Bhutto wanted Pakistan to be self-reliant in every sector of life but some anti- development forces did not want to see her leading Pakistan in right direction.
Sharmila declared that Benazir was fully determined to fight conspiracies faced by the country and the nation, and she strengthened the federation and ensured inter-provincial harmony besides bringing real democracy to the country.
“The best way to pay homage to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto is to continue her struggle for achieving the goal of federal polity and promote her political and ideological philosophy, which are in the best interest of the nation.”
The PPP leader said that Benazir raised political awareness among people and bravely fought dictatorship, adding she remained the prime minister twice and led the masses in dashing manner and won votes from all corners of Pakistan.
“Being a popular leader of the masses, BB attracted large crowds in various public meetings and rallies, and persuaded other important political leaders to participate in the 2013 elections which she viewed as an opportunity to challenge religious extremist forces,” Sharmila concluded.
