ISLAMABAD: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shahbar Zaidi on Tuesday barred all chief commissioners from raiding any business premises and suspending anyone from active taxpayers list.
According to the directive issued by FBR Chairman Shahbar Zaidi to all chief commissioners of Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU) and Regional Taxpayer Office (RTOs) here on Tuesday, there will be no suspension from active taxpayers list unless there is personal interaction with CEO/owner of the business 24 hours before suspension. List of all cases of suspension after suspension will be sent to FBR chairman and Member IR (Operation) with reason of suspension and evidence of personal interaction as discussed above.
There will be no raid on any premises of any existing taxpayers without prior approval of Member IR (Operation) and chairman. If there is evidence of economic transactions which are chargeable to tax and the organisation/entity is not a tax registered person then officer of that jurisdiction will report it to the Member IR (Operation) and FBR chairman who will provide necessary direction for future course of action.
