KP CM wants need assessment for districts in Kohat division
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has said that need assessment of every district in Kohat division should be made on priority basis to chalk out a master plan including schemes related to supply of clean drinking water.
“The royalty funds should be utilized for materialising the master plans in the next financial year instead of undertaking small projects of political interest,” the chief minister said while chairing a performance review meeting of Kohat division administration. The meeting was also attended by Advisor to CM on Elementary & Secondary Education Ziaullah Bangash, Principal Secretary to CM Shahab Ali Shah, commissioner of Kohat and other officials, said a handout.
The chief minister stated that budget allocations for Kohat division in the next fiscal year would be made as per the needs assessment of every district, adding that feasibility study for every master plan should be conducted in advance. Earlier, the meeting was briefed that from Kohat division, 2357 complaints have been received via Pakistan Citizen Portal, out of which 2161 complaints were resolved whereas 196 are in progress.
Similarly, 126 kanals of land was recovered in the Kohat region during the previous two months as part of the anti-encroachment drive in the province.
As for revenue collection, the chief minister was informed that a total of Rs1.54 million revenue was generated against the set target of Rs1.58 million through land tax, agri income tax, local rate and usher in Kohat district.
Similarly, Rs673,505 revenue was generated against the set target of Rs675,633 in Karak district whereas, in Hangu district, Rs397,926 revenue has been generated against the set target of Rs394,141.
Under the Clean and Green Pakistan initiative, the chief minister was told that 1.42 million saplings have been planted in April 2019 in Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Kurram and Orakzai districts whereas during the previous two months, special cleanliness drives have been conducted in the entire Division.
Under the Clean and Green Pakistan initiative, cleanliness drives have also been launched in petrol and CNG stations in the province as part of which, 96 stations were checked in April for hygiene and a fine of Rs27,000 has been imposed where the situation of the hygiene was not satisfactory. The chief minister on this occasion said that yearly schedule for sports, culture, and spring festivals should be prepared in advance by the district administration, adding that effective measures should be undertaken at every level.
CM visits Badaber Police Station:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Monday paid a surprise visit to the Badaber Police Station.
Accompanied by the senior officials, he visited various sections of the police station, inspected the control room and went through the record of various criminals. The chief minister directed the police officials to ensure foolproof security to the people. He also asked the police to treat people with respect. Mahmood Khan said the government was committed to providing more facilities and incentives to the police force.
Fire at godown:A fire broke out at a godown on the Dilazak Road on Monday. Officials of the Rescue 1122 said three fire trucks rushed to the site where firefighters put out the fire after hectic efforts.
At least 25 incidents of fire eruption at different places have been reported in Peshawar only during the last week.
