Two murdered in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: Two people were murdered in as many incidents here on Friday.
In the first incident, Rao Ali Gohar, a resident of Islami Colony, was allegedly shot dead by Rao Waqas and others over an election dispute. In the second incident, Amina Bibi, a resident of Chak 174/Murad, was found dead in her house while her 11-year-old son Ali was found critically injured. The injured boy was rushed to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital. Dharranwala police have registered a case against unidentified people.
ZAMBIAN WOMAN HELD: A Zambian woman, Che Poyta, was arrested at Shaikh Zayed Airport, Rahimyar Khan, on Friday.
The woman reached Rahimyar Khan from Lahore by a plane and was scheduled to fly for Abu Dhabi when security personnel arrested her after heroin capsules were traced in her abdomen. She was taken to Shaikh Zayed Hospital where ultrasound was conducted. According to hospital spokesman Dr Ilyas, it will take time to recover the capsules from her abdomen.
RAMAZAN BAZAAR: Commissioner Saqib Zafar and Regional Police Officer Ehsan Sadiq visited a Sasta Ramazan Bazaar on Hasilpur Road and reviewed the rates and quality of daily-use items. The commissioner said that stern action against would be taken against the profiteers.
Total 12 Sasta Ramazan Bazaars have been set up in the district and 35 bazaars in the division to provide cheap and quality goods and food items to the people.
