An accountability court remanded former Sujawal Taluka municipal officer (TMO) Mumtaz Ali Zardari to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday for 14 days.
He is facing charges of massive corruption and embezzlement worth millions of rupees, causing a huge loss to the national exchequer.
Zardari was arrested at the Karachi airport while he was about to leave the country on Thursday. According to NAB sources, Zardari is allegedly involved in corruption of Rs100 million, which he committed through withdrawals of illegal cheques and by issuing huge amounts to fake contractors/parties.
