KARACHI: The Aspirations All-Pakistan Football Alliance, a UK-based NGO, announced on Thursday the launching of its operations to serve the game in Pakistan at different levels.
The organization, led by Majid Shafiq who has developed coaches and players in nine different sports in Europe, says its “mission is to bring football players, coaches and clubs in Pakistan to an elite level through its projects both in Europe and South Asia”.
According to APFA’s president, it is already in talks with Pakistan Premier League (PPL) champions K-Electric for a partnership that would see KE sign foreign players, both international and Pakistani origin.
Along with being potential stakeholder in Pakistan football, APFA plans to launch several elite academies throughout Pakistan, mentoring colts from the grassroots.
APFA has also launched Pakistan’s first premier football magazine, ‘The Footballistan’ — www.thefootballistan.com.
