HAFIZABAD: A landlord was killed and another injured over an old enmity near New Ghallah Mandi on Madhrianwala Road on Thursday.
There was a rivalry between Jehangir Bhatti group and Bakhtawar alias Bakhtu Bhatti group. More than 25 persons of both the groups had so far been murdered during the last 20 years.
On the day of the incident, Manzar Abbas Bhatti and Qalab Abbas along with Ahsan Zafar of Jehangir group were returning to their village from a court when their four rivals opened fire on them. As a result, Manzar Abbas was killed on the spot while Ahsan Zafar sustained serious injuries. The injured man was shifted to the DHQ Hospital. Police are investigating.
HOUSE LOOTED: A house was looted here on Wednesday night.
Three bandits broke into the house of Nanoana UC former chairman Amanullah Hanjra and made off with Rs 465,000, 12 tola gold ornaments, a licensed gun and others valuables. Police are investigating.
