JHANG: The Anjuman-e-Tajran and Electric Dealers Association on Wednesday warned of taking out rallies if a case was not registered against the Buildings SDO, who allegedly thrashed a local trader.
Addressing a press conference at Aslam Market, Shaheed Road, on Wednesday, Electric Dealers Association president Zahid Malik said that the Buildings SDO through a contractor purchased an air conditioner from the shop of Farooq Hassan. He said that the SDO asked the trader to immediately deliver the air conditioner to his house. To it, Farooq sent a delivery van loaded with five ACs to the residence of the SDO, who forcefully unloaded all of them. Later, Farooq rushed to the SDO’s house and asked him to return the four air conditioners but he allegedly beat him and locked him in house. He said that they went to Kotwali police station, but police allegedly refused to register a case. He said that they met DCO Nadir Chattha, who ordered District Officer (Coordination) Haroon Rashid to hold an inquiry. During inquiry, the DOC not only favoured the SDO but also insulted the traders, he alleged.
