KARACHI: National Bank of Pakistan District South Football championship will explode into action here at Kakri Ground from June 21.
As many as 127 clubs of District South will be featuring in the competitions, organisers said in a press briefing here at KMC Stadium on Monday.
NBP sports chief Iqbal Qasim was flanked at the briefing by a representative of District South, the organising secretary of the event Nasir Karim and NBP sports consultant Ghulam Mohammad Khan.
After the briefing Ghulam Mohammad told ‘The News’ that the event would be held under knock-out system and a total of 100 matches will be played.
As many as 27 matches will be played in the Ramadan, while the remaining matches will be conducted after Eid-ul-Fitr.
He said the winners would be handed over a purse of Rs100,000 while the runners-up would receive Rs50,000.
Iqbal Qasim said during the affair NBP would also sponsor a tournament of District Central. The former Test spinner said that NBP would also support football legends.
