Inter-varsity tennis rolls into action
ISLAMABAD: The 38th All Pakistan Inter-Varsity Men’s Tennis Championships 2019 under the auspices of Higher Education Commission got under way on Friday here at the PTF Complex, says a press release.
The event will conclude on April 14 featuring teams from 19 universities from across the country. Matches will be played in the singles and doubles categories.
PTF President Salim Saifullah Khan visited the PTF Complex and witnessed some of the matches. He also met the players, team managers, coaches, event organisers and the officiating staff during his visit.
During his interaction with the organisers and the players, he wished them good luck for successful conduct of the event.
Saifullah expressed his pleasure that HEC has taken a good step by holding the inter-varsity championships regularly. The event will not only promote the game of tennis but also provide opportunities to upcoming players to display their talent.
He added that such events also help promote inter-provincial harmony and improve people to people contact.
The president also directed the PTF team to extend their full support to make the event a success.
