PM is an alien…: Nawaz ready for anti-govt movement, says Fazl
LAHORE: Terming Prime Minister Imran Khan an alien, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman claimed on Tuesday that Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif had agreed on launching a movement against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government.
He met the former premier at his Jati Umra residence and discussed an anti-government alliance and other matters for about two hours. The JUI-F chief said he and the PML-N supremo agreed on allowing no more time to the PTI government and launching a movement to oust Imran Khan, though its modus operandi would be decided later. He said he would meet Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman soon and discuss with them an anti-government movement.
The two sides also agreed on evolving a joint opposition against the PTI government “to prevent it from continuing with its anti-people policies”, sources said, adding that the PML-N supremo expressed his willingness to join the opposition parties’ platform. However, he expressed some reservations which would be discussed further for addressing them.
Maulana Fazl is likely to take a special message from Nawaz Sharif to PPP Co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari in the coming days.
Talking to the media after the meeting, Maualna Fazlur Rehman said he discussed with Nawaz Sharif launching of a joint struggle against the government.
The PML-N would decide its future strategy in consultation with other party leaders, he added.
He claimed that there were no issues between Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari, and they could hold a meeting in near future. He said all political parties believed that the last elections were rigged, the PTI government had fake mandate and it was installed by hidden forces for achieving obvious ends, and the prime minister is also fake.
He said it was yet to be seen for how long the fake PM could be pulled along by the forces which installed him.
He said that the JUI-F had waged successful million marches in the past, and consultations for another million march had been completed in near future. He said the opposition parties would have to be united on a common agenda. He said that consultations were under way among the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) component parties for waging a joint struggle against the government. He said the entire opposition had been on the same page after the 2018 elections.
Geo News report adds: Maulana Fazlur Rehman said “NAB is an institution of revenge. You should not expect accountability or justice from NAB. I think we need to take some strict decisions when it comes to NAB,” Fazl told reporters.
