Qadri urges world for collectively tackling extremism
LAHORE: Minhajul Quran International and Pakistan Awami Tehrik President Dr Tahirul Qadri said indeed extremism has not been a problem of Muslim Ummah but a collective problem of world for which they must join hands to tackle it.
He was talking to media in Riyadh prior to the opening session of two-day conference on terrorism, where he had gone to give suggestions for unanimous peace narrative and feasible programme to deal with the issue, said a PAT spokesperson Tuesday. Qadri said office-bearers of OIC deserve appreciation for convening conference on such a critical issue of Islamic world.
He said terrorists have their own narrative and misguide Muslim youth with extremist ideology. They misrepresent concept of Jihad and spread waywardness. To beat this scenario, alternative narrative is imperative. He said during OIC session he would focus on the concept of Jihad and when it was waged. He said terrorism has affected the entire world, but Muslim world is worst affected due to this phenomena.
OIC is an important forum for Muslims, message and programme approved by this forum are likely to have more positive consequences.
Dr Tahirul Qadri will deliver his speech today (Wednesday). He is accompanied by MQI Chairman Dr Hassan Mohyuddin Qadri and Dr Ghazala Hassan Qadri. Delegates from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Morocco, Bangladesh and Afghanistan met him and applauded the efforts of Minhajul Quran for promotion of peace worldwide.
