OKARA: A widow was abducted and raped for two months.
Nusrat Bibi, widow of Arif, was waiting for a train for Karachi at a railway station when Shoaibur Rashid, Asif Rashid and Farooq allegedly abducted her about two months ago. The accused shifted her to a place near Depalpur where Shoaib allegedly raped her. On Tuesday, the accused threw the widow at Depalpur Chowk. Police have registered a case.
MAN COMMITS SUICIDE: A man committed suicide at Khairpur village on Tuesday.
Noor Ahmad had divorced his wife some days ago. On the day of the incident, he ended his life by hanging himself in utter desperation.
DPC takes out rally against Burma

OKARA: The District Peace Committee (DPC) on Tuesday took out a rally to express solidarity with Burmese Muslims.
The DPC members, including Sufi Muhammad Latif, Haji Ahsanul Haq, Syed Kausar Ali Rizvi, Zafarullah Qamar Lakhvi and Haji Muhammad Saleem, led the rally from Ghausia Masjid up to MCB Chowk. They were chanting slogans against the Burmese government. They were also carrying placards and banners. Addressing the protesters, speakers condemned the Burmese government for killing Muslims. They demanded the Pakistan government lodge a strong protest against the Burmese government.
