BAHAWALPUR: Activists of the Peoples Students Federation Tehsil Rahimyar Khan chapter and Peoples Lawyers Forum on Tuesday staged a demonstration against the killings of the Muslims in Burma.
The protesters led by Masood Khan Pathan and Zahid Khan Bangash advocate chanted slogans against the killings and atrocities in Burma. They criticised the Burmese government. Later, students of various colleges including Khawaja Fareed Postgraduate College also joined the protest. The protesters demanded the government end ties with the Burma and present a resolution in the UNO against the government of the Burma. They also demanded the government take a bold stance on the Burma issue.
3 injured in brawl on District Court premises

BAHAWALPUR: Three persons were injured during a brawl on the District Courts premises on Tuesday.
Asma Bibi appeared in the court of Civil Judge Fakhar Bashir to record her statement in a case which she had filed to get divorce from her husband. In the meantime, the groups of Ghalloo Baradri and Ganjju Baradri, residents of Mauza Chotala, Lodhran district, started fighting over the issue. As a result, Fida Hussain, Yamin and Zarar were injured and sent to the BVH on the order of the judge for their medical. The judge also directed the Cantt police to give safe passage to Asma Bibi and proceed accordingly against the accused persons.
