Six girl students among seven killed in Bhakkar accident
BHAKKAR: Six girl students and a rickshaw driver were killed in a road accident near Jesewal, Sarai Muhajir, on Saturday.
A rickshaw was carrying schoolgirls to their homes, who were returning after taking ninth class examination, when a bus going to DI Khan from Multan hit the rickshaw on MM Road.
As a result, rickshaw driver Muhammad Amjad and six students identified as Sawera, Iqra Rafiq, Maryam, Sanam Bashir, Sobia and Sana Parveen were killed on the spot while another student sustained injuries and rushed to a hospital.
Later, people blocked the MM Road in protest and set ablaze the bus. They demanded registration of a case against the owners of the bus. In the meantime, the DC and the DPO rushed to the spot and held talks with the protesters. The people demanded the officers ban the entry of the buses of the company in the district.
