Murder case against Okara doctor
OKARA: A case was registered against a doctor on charges of killing a six-year-old boy by administering him a wrong injection.
Ghaus Ali, son of Muhammad Awais of Sindhi Mohallah, was brought to the private clinic of Dr Hassan Rashid with stomach pain. The doctor said the patient needed surgery and received Rs27,000 from the father of the boy. The next day, the doctor took the boy to the operation theatre. After sometime the parents of the boy were told that he had died. The doctor left the clinic after the death of the boy.
The family members of the boy damaged the hospital property in protest and took the body to the Okara Press Club. They told reporters that the doctor murdered the boy by prescribing operation unnecessarily and administering a wrong injection.
Police registered a murder case against the doctor and CEO (Health) Dr Abdul Majeed sealed the clinic. PMA president Dr Ishtiaq Ali said police action against the doctor was wrong. He warned all hospitals and clinics in the district would be closed down in protest over action against the doctor.
