Islamabad again to buzz with squash activities
ISLAMABAD: The federal capital will be buzzing with international squash activities during the first ten days of April as back-to-back events are planned with $30,000 CAS Open to be held at the outset.
The event sponsored by Serena Hotels will feature leading players from across the squash-playing nations.
Scottish player Greg Lobban, who is ranked 27 in the world, will be the top seed of the event while Tayyab Aslam will be top favourite local player.
Pakistan Squash Federation secretary Group Captain Tahir Sultan, who was flanked by Qamar Zaman, Director Academies of the Pakistan Squash Federation Aftab Qureshi and Hussin Udvani (Serena Hotels) briefed on the salient features of the event.
The women event to be participated by locals and foreigners would be seen in action in event to be contested alongside the CAS Open.
The both events would be followed by $20,000 Huawai Open to be held at the Mushaf Ali Mir complex.
“We have always tried to generate activities and these back-to-back events are an effort in this regard.
“World’s best players along with leading locals would be seen in action over the first ten days of the event,” Tahir Sultan said.
The PSF official hoped that more events would be organised this year. “Depending on the Professional Squash Association’s approval, more events will be planned for the year,” he said.
