GUJRANWALA: On the order of the Supreme Court, re-election will be held in 33 polling stations of PP-97 constituency on June 21.
Earlier, PML-N candidate Ashraf Warraich had won from this constituency in the 2013 general elections but PML-Q candidate Nasir Cheema had alleged massive rigging in the polls. Later, casting of bogus votes was proved. As many as 52,550 total voters are registered in the constituency. Regional Election Commissioner Masroor Ahmed would be the District Returning Officer while District Election Commissioner Nadeem Qasid would perform duty as the RO in the re-election.
MAN DIES, ANOTHER HURT IN ACCIDENT: A man was killed while another injured in a road accident at Ghummanwala village on Monday.
Adil and his friend Imran were on their way by a bike when a wagon hit them. As a result, Imran died on the spot while Adil was wounded. Tatle Aali police shifted the dead body to a hospital for autopsy.
