Bilawal kicks off train march from Karachi today
KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is all set to begin his anti-government train journey “Karavan-e-Bhutto” from Tuesday (today) from Karachi to Larkana.
The Pakistan Peoples’ Party has finalized Bilawal’s schedule and a special train will be used for the rally with arrangements for Bilawal’s lodging. The train rally will coincide with the upcoming death anniversary of PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on April 4. The journey will begin from Karachi Cantonment Railway Station at 10 am on Tuesday (today) and the PPP chairman will reach Larkana on Wednesday night.
On the way, the PPP chairman will address party supporters and activists at a number of railway stations including Landhi in Karachi, Jung Shahi in District Thatta, Kotri in District Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Odero Lal in District Matiari, Tando Adam, Shahdadpur, Nawabshah. The mid-journey break will be taken at the Nawabshah Railway station on Tuesday night. It will resume the journey from Nawabshah at 10 am on Wednesday. The train will pass Daur, Padidan, Mihrabpur, Bhirya Road, Khairpur Miris, Rohri, Sukkur, Habib Kot, Gosri, Madeji, Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto, to finally reach Larkana. The PPP chairman will conclude the journey by addressing the party workers and supporters at the Larkana Railway Station.
The PPP leaders said Bilawal has opted for the train journey in view of the closure of the airspace due to security situation at the borders. They said a large number of supporters and activists of the party would see off the PPP chairman from the Cantt Railway Station. Special arrangements have been made for the first address of the PPP’s chairman during his journey at the Landhi Railway Station. In a statement, PPP leader Aajiz Dhamra warned the federal authorities that they should not cause any obstruction in the train journey including a deliberate technical defect in the train. He claimed the rulers have become fearful due to the chairman’s train rally.
The PPP leader and MPA Faryal Talpur said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has emerged as a strong icon of the federation proven by the fact that thousands of party workers greeted him in the federal capital when the PPP chairman visited the NAB headquarters in Islamabad. She said the PPP chairman would be warmly greeted by party supporters at all the railway stations.
