Peshawar Police bosses take notice of cops’ excesses

PESHAWAR: Police bosses took prompt action on three different videos that went viral on social media against the policemen’s high-handedness and ordered inquiry into all these incidents.
In the first incident in Hayatabad, Capital City Police Officer Qazi Jamilur Rehman suspended three policemen and constituted an inquiry committee headed by ASP Hayatabad after a video went viral on social media, showing an assistant sub-inspector and two constables demanding bribe from a passenger coach. In another incident, the police bosses suspended a constable of Gulberg Police Station, who was shown in a video taking burger from a local vendor without paying for it.
