Bilawal should have not issued improper statement: Fawad
KARACHI: The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry, said the inappropriate statement which PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had given, should not have been issued as the selection of words was not appropriate.
Fawad expressed these views while talking to host Saleem Safi in his show ‘Jirga’ on Saturday. He said neither Bilawal is traitor nor Nawaz is ‘yar’ (friend) of Modi as they all are Pakistanis. He said Bilawal Bhutto is an important leader of Pakistan and he could not be declared a traitor. He said there is difference between political movement and "Save Papa" movement. He said there is no issue of treason in the country but extremism is a certainly a problem. He said this issue is not related to Pakistan alone but it is a problem of the whole Muslim world.
Fawad Chaudhry said as far as treason is concerned, it is a political allegation such as the PML-N used to dub whatever Pervez Musharraf did as treason, and then all of the actions of Bilawal were deemed treasonous too and similarly Imran was termed an agent of the Jewish lobby, but all these things are improper. Fawad said whenever they staged protest, allegations of terrorism were leveled against them. To a question, he said if the long march was wrong, Tehreek-e-Nijat and dharna were incorrect, then every political campaign in the country is wrong. He said their dharna was a political movement while PPP became angry over question of Rs5,000 billion corruption. About Aleem Khan, he said she had given answers to all questions regarding her wealth.
