Bilawal greets PM, PTI on ‘World’s Puppetry Day’

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Thursday lambasted the government through social media handler, ‘Twitter’ for not releasing his party’s workers, saying that the federal government still not releasing ‘peaceful’ party workers from custody and not removing ministers associated with banned outfits.

While in his tweet on the Twitter, he sarcastically congratulated Prime Minister Imran Khan and PTI on ‘World’s Puppetry Day’ with tweeting “Today is actually #WorldPuppetryDay congratulations @ImranKhanPTI & @PTIofficial.”

Through another tweet from his twitter account, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari tweeted that, “Has the government removed federal ministers associated with banned outfits yet? No. Are peaceful, democratic, political workers of PPP still in custody? Yes.”

In the meanwhile, addressing the press conference here on Thursday, Secretary Information PPP Parliamentarians Dr Nafisa Shah said more than 50 workers of the PPP still in jail while many still missing. “The government behaving like Hitler government on which the criticism was not allowed and if anyone criticise will be put in jail,” she said while addressing a press conference along with President PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Hamayun Khan and Deputy Secretary Information PPP Parliamentarians Ms Palwasha Khan here Thursday.

Dr Nafisa Shah said Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had reminded the government to take action against the banned outfits in the light of the National Action Plan (NAP) but instead of it the government has targeted the peaceful workers of the PPP who were gathered to show their solidarity with the party leadership.

She said the PTI gave a dharna with 500 workers in Islamabad and attacked Parliament and Pakistan Television but did not tolerate the protest of the PPP.

She said the way the senior leader of the PPP Akhunzada Chattan was treated by the Islamabad police has exposed the government intentions against the PPP workers. “We were searching our party workers who were kept in different police stations.”

Hamayun Khan warned that if the PPP workers were not released then the party had no option but to protest. “We have postponed the protest outside the Adiala Jail due to Pakistan Day and if workers not released then the party will explore all the option,” he said.

Deputy Information Secretary of the PPP Palwasha Khan said it was a trailer for the government and if the party workers gathered from all over Pakistan in Islamabad then it would be difficult for the government to handle the situation. “The PPP workers were peaceful and the government should not assume it as a weakness,” she said.

In the meanwhile, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited the residence of late Brigadier (R) Asad Munir to offer his condolence to bereaved family along with his younger sister Aseefa Bhutto Zardari.
