Junaid pleads for revival of hockey league

LAHORE: Former Olympian Khawaja Junaid has pleaded for the organisation of the league for the revival of hockey in the country. Talking to The News, Junaid, former coach of the team said that the league similar to the Pakistan Super League ebing organized by Pakistan cricket Board is the need of hour. He further stated that the league will not only provide an opportunity for the players to learn from the foreign players but talented players will also be unearthed. Identifying the main cause of hockey’s destruction in the country, he said that players are not coming from the grass root level which needs to be addressed at the earliest.
