The Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR), Lahore bench has become literally non-functional. Out of the six judicial members seats, only one has been filled. As a result, litigants are facing a delay in disposal of their tax appeal cases which has to be decided by the division benches of the ATIR which must comprise two members: one judicial and one accountant member.
The relevant authorities must coordinate with the FPSC to start the hiring process of qualified so that the vacant positions can be filled.
