ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa on Wednesday formed a seven-member larger bench to determine the definition of terrorism.
The larger bench would be headed by the chief justice and would decide as to what constituted an act of terrorism and what did not. Prior to forming larger bench, Justice Khosa remarked: “It has not been established which cases fall under the terrorism since 1997”.
The issue of definition of terrorism came under discussion when the court was hearing two review petitions filed by Sibtain and Fazal Bashir, who were charged under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act that deals with punishment for acts of terrorism.
