Sarfraz Cheema dubs Bilawal as spokesman of Modi
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Omar Sarfraz Cheema Wednesday alleged PPP leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari acted like spokesperson of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi instead of answering NAB queries.
“Bilawal should have answered NAB questions and provide proofs of his innocence, but he acted as spokesperson of Narendra Modi strengthening Indian narrative of criticising the National Action Plan,” Cheema said in reaction to his appearance before NAB.
Cheema condemned in the strongest terms the hooliganism of PPP workers outside NAB and charged that the chaos created by the workers of PPP at the behest of their leaders, who were summoned by NAB over corruption cases, was utterly reprehensible. “Zardari and Bilawal are hell bent upon obliterating Bhutto’s legacy,” he alleged and said Zardari was following Nawaz Sharif’s footsteps in a bid to safeguard his ill-gotten wealth.
Commenting on Bilawal’s presser, Cheema stated that Bilawal was acting as spokesperson of Modi and by criticising NAP he was strengthening Indian narrative. “Bilawal’s statement belittled our martyrs and his anti-state remarks have unmasked PPP’s inimical face,” he charged. Meanwhile, a delegation of the International Republication Institute visited PTI’s Central Secretariat Wednesday and met party’s Chief Organiser Saifullah Khan Niazi.
Deliberations were mainly held on IRI’s latest survey, which showed strong approval rating for PTI government. PTI Central Secretary General Arshad Dad, Central Secretary Information Omer Sarfraz Cheema and others were also present in the briefing. In another development, State Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi called on PTI Chief Organiser Niazi and felicitated him over assuming office.
