Bilawal appears before NAB today
ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, along with his father Asif Ali Zardari, will appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) today (Wednesday).
Bilawal alleged that the government had responded to his demand to sack ministers associated with banned outfits with NAB notice.
“The government has responded to my demand to sack ministers associated with banned outfits by declaring me anti-state and issuing death threats and NAB notice,” Bilawal in a tweet message said.
The PPP chairman has been summoned by NAB in connection with Park Lane Estate Company case, at their Islamabad office. “None of this deter us from our principle stand,” Bilawal said. In his tweet message, Bilawal demanded formation of a joint national security parliamentary committee and action against the banned outfits. “Form joint NSC parliamentary committee and act against banned outfits,” he said.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has decided to appear before the NAB today, senior PPP leader Nayyar Bukhari said. “Accompanied by his lawyers and party leaders, he will turn up at NAB office on Wednesday,” Bukhari said.
The leaders and workers of PPP have been directed to gather outside the NAB office on Wednesday as a gesture of support to their top leader. The NAB officials will enquire the PPP leader about accusations over the Park Lane Estate Company, a Karachi-based company. He is also likely to be handed over a questionnaire comprising 100 question relating to the real estate company.
According to sources, Asif Zardari allegedly acquired the company illegal through a front man in 1989 and he and his son Bilawal became share-holders of the company, later during the year 2009. The sources said the documents of the year 2008 showed Zardari’s signatures as director. Allegedly billions of rupees were also transferred to company’s accounts via fake bank accounts while Asif Zardari was its director.
