MULTAN: The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf activists on Saturday staged a demonstration at Chungi No 6 against the federal budget and termed it a failure of the PML-N government.
The PTI activists led by Wasim Khan protested and rejected the budget terming it anti-people. The protesters chanted slogans against the government and said that the budget had broken the back of already hard-pressed masses. Speaking on the occasion, Waseem Khan said that all sections of the society had rejected the budget. He said that it was a bundle of lie and unrealistic figures. No incentive was given to agriculture, farmers, spinning and textile related industry in the budget, he added. He said that the government had failed to provide relief to a common man in the budget. He said that the government had made tall claims of cutting down the expenditures of the Prime Minister House, Chief Minister houses and the Presidency but no such step was taken. He said that the PTI was expecting removal of innovative taxes but no such announcement had been made.
