Lahore badminton team named for Punjab Games
LAHORE: Lahore badminton team was named by SBP coaches for upcoming Punjab Games following rigorous trials at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall on Saturday.
Overall 68 male players appeared in badminton trials. SBP coaches selected M Ammar Masood, Shahmeer Inftikhar, Ahmer Jalal and Gohar Azam to represent Lahore in the Punjab Games badminton event after watching their performances minutely during trials.
Sports Board Punjab (SBP) coaches also conducted karate and kick boxing trials for the selection of Lahore Division teams at the same venue.
SBP coaches also organised baseball, athletics, kabaddi and boxing trials in Multan division. The boxing trials of Faisalabad division were also held in Sports Gymnasium Hall in Toba Tek Singh.
DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar witnessed the trials and appreciated the performance of young players. He also directed the coaches to conduct all the trials in a transparent manner.
The trials will remain continue across the province till March 18, 2019.
Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, Deputy Directors Shahid Nizami, Tariq Wattoo, Assistant Director Raees ur Rehman, Divisional Sports Officer Lahore Nadeem Qaiser, DSO Lahore Tanveer Shah were also present on this occasion.
