BARA: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Bara chapter, on Friday asked the government to provide all facilities to the merged tribal districts.

Speaking at a press conference at the Bara Press Club, Jamaat-i-Islami Bara head Khan Wali Afridi, general secretary Sultan Afridi and others said that the tribal districts in erstwhile Fata were facing severe problems after the merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“The government must provide all facilities including education, health and jobs to the dwellers of the tribal districts, which suffered a lot during the prolonged militancy,” Khan Wali said.

He added that the tribal people had rendered matchless sacrifices for the sake of the country.

The JI leader also demanded jobs for the educated youth in various provincial and federal departments.

“The government should release the missing persons belonging to tribal districts and remove unnecessary checkposts of the security forces on the main roads in Bara subdivision,” he said and demanded the government to exempt the erstwhile Fata from all taxes for 20 years. He said that the government should reopen crossing points with Afghanistan to promote trade and businesses. The JI leader announced to hold a rally in Bara on March 23.

JI provincial head Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan will be the chief guest.
