Swabi, Canadian varsities to launch joint degree programme
SWABI: The Women University Swabi and the University of Winnipeg, Canada, have agreed to join hands for launching a joint degree programmes and discussed the possibilities for academic and research collaboration between the two universities.
During his visit to the Women University, Swabi, Prof. Dr Athar Ata, Chairman Department of Chemistry at the University of Winnipeg, Canada, on Thursday expressed the willingness for joint collaboration in the field of academic research.
The scholar praised the Swabi varsity for empowering women through quality education and producing skilled female graduates in different disciplines in the country.
Earlier, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Khanzadi Fatima Khattak, briefed the guest about the history and academic achievements of the newly established Women University Swabi.
Academic and administrative staff members were present on the occasion. Prof Dr Khanzadi Fatima and Prof Dr Ata the discussed possibilities for academic and research collaboration between the two universities.
Both the universities agreed to join hands for the launching joint degree programmes.
They agreed to ink a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to this effect.Prof. Dr. Athar Ata later visited different sections of the university. The visiting guest also planted a sapling on the premises of the university. Prof Dr Khanzadi Khattak presented a shield to the guest.
