Cleanliness week to start in Rawalpindi from March 18
Rawalpindi : Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Chaudry Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that our motherland has bestowed unending blessings upon on us. Now it is our turn to return back so on this Pakistan day we are returning cleanliness to it. District administration with all allied departments will observe cleanliness week starting from March 18 to 23.
These weeklong activities will especially focus on three things. Firstly, street cleaning in both rural and urban areas by involving people from all walks of life, secondly it will raise awareness on importance of hygiene through public campaign on hand-wash. Last main component is tree plantation; Dc added and further said that a target of 3,000 tree plantation is set in metropolitan Rwp and Murree. He directed all departments to fully observe this week and share their detailed plan by today’s night to Dc office. He also directed them to avoid jurisdiction issues for this national cause and be an active part of this campaign to display their social responsibility.
Inauguration ceremony of this week will be held at Fatima Jinnah University and people from all sectors of life including celebrities and political figure ill also participate in these activities.
PHA Chairman Asif Mehmood, RDA Director Rao Atif Raza, CTO Rwp, ADC(G) Maleeha Jamal, ADC (F&P) Nousheen Sarwar, ADC (HQ) Saima Younis, Sectary RTA, CO MC, CCB, RCB, Assistant commissioners from all Tehsils and heads of Allied Departments were also present at the meeting.
