Humanity is above politics: Bilawal
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday responded to Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry’s comments on his meeting with former premier Nawaz Sharif at Kot Lakhpat jail.
"If U-turns make great leaders in Naya-Pakistan you're saying I am now leader of the century? Also visiting someone who is ill should be seen for what it is. Humanity above politics," Bilawal wrote on Twitter. "Pehlay insan bano phir syasatan bano. Remember NS visit when the old Khan fell and broke his back?" the PPP chairman added.
Bilawal had visited Nawaz to Kot Lakhpat jail and inquired after his health. Speaking to the media after his meeting, the PPP chairman had said, though there are political differences between the two parties, the PPP and every individual should follow the cultural and religious values which dictate that a Muslim who is unwell should be visited and inquired after.
Commenting on Bilawal's visit, the information minister had tweeted, “Today, Bhutto’s grandson took biggest u-turn of the century… An agreement was reached over Bhutto’s blood.” He further said that the meeting between the two disgruntled parties only bore disappointment.
