DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Unidentified gunmen killed a brother and a nephew of a tehsildar in Nawab area in the limits of University Police Station here on Wednesday.
Tehsildar Haqnawaz and his other brother Shahnawaz were injured in the firing. Police said that six masked motorcyclists posing as officials of the Counter-Terrorism Department arrived at the residence of Haqnawaz at around 7 pm and inquired about his son Asad Abbas.
The armed men told Haqnawaz that they wanted to take his son to the police station for questioning. However, when Haqnawaz informed them that Asad was not at home they asked for his second son Ansar Abbas. Haqnawaz said that his brothers Ghulam Qasim and Shahnawaz came out of the house when they heard the exchange of arguments. He said the armed men opened fire and killed his 70-year-old brother Ghulam Qasim and nephew Ghulam Abbas.
