Nandipur Power Project: Naveed Qamar, Khawaja Asif to testify as NAB witnesses
ISLAMABAD: Former ministers Syed Naveed Qamar and Khawaja Asif will testify as NAB witnesses against former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and former law minister Babar Awan in the Nandipur power project reference.
The accountability court on Monday indicted Pervaiz Ashraf, Babar Awan and five others in the reference. The accused, however, rejected the charges. Earlier in his remarks, the accountability court had directed the NAB to present the witnesses to record their statement, as the court wanted to conclude the case at the earliest. Following the court orders, the National Accountability Bureau Tuesday submitted a list of its 35 witnesses to the court.
Nandipur Power Project officials from Ministry of Water and Power, Ministry of Law and three investigation officers of the NAB are also among the witnesses. The accountability court will resume hearing on March 19.
