Meeting between Bilawal, Nawaz today
LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while voicing concerns over the health of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has demanded proper medical treatment for him.
Addressing a meeting of the PPP Punjab Parliamentary Party here on Sunday, he said his meeting with Nawaz today is purely on humanitarian grounds and it has no political agenda. The PPP meeting, held at the Bilawal House, was attended by PPP Central Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira, Parliamentary Leader of PPP in Punjab Assembly Hassan Murtaza, MPAs Makhdoom Usman Mehmood, Rais Nabeel, Shazia Abid and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Bilawal said a danger was looming on the country whereas the rulers are busy with non-issues, adding that the PPP wouldn’t remain silent anymore. He said whether it was the National or Punjab Assembly, the government is seen creating storms in tea cups whereas its ministers are busy issuing controversial statements and wasting time of parliaments. He urged the PPP MPAs to play the role of a vibrant opposition in the PA and not let the government hijack the house.
Voicing concerns over inflation, the PPP chairman demanded that the PTI government address the grievances of the poor who are combating price hike and living without basic facilities of life. He said that instead of wasting time, the need of the hour is to acknowledge sacrifices of the nation.
Unveiling his future plan for Punjab, he said he would visit bar councils and press clubs. He said the PTI government has imposed curbs on the media and deprived media workers of their livelihood.
The PPP delegation calling on Nawaz will include Qamar Zaman Kaira, Senator Mustafa Nawaz, Jameel Soomro and Hassan Murtaza.
