Islamabad: National Council of Social Welfare (NCSW) organised a one day seminar titled “The Role of Women in the Development of Pakistan and Our Social Responsibilities” in collaboration with United Relief Foundation of the blind, says a press release.
NCSW Chairman Dr. Nadeem Shafiq Malik, presided the seminar, while Federal Minister for Federal Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training (FE&PT) Shafqat Mehmood was the chief guest.
Wajiha Akram, parliamentary secretary for M/o FE&PT, Andaleeb Abbas, Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Rukhsana Naveed Parliamentary for Climate Change were the guests of honour. Prominent activists of women organizations, students, civil servants and activists participated in the seminar.
On the occasion Shafqat Mehmood said that government is committed to work for the rights and education of women in the light of teachings of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
On this occasion, Wajiha Akram said that it is the responsibility of state to protect their basic fundamental rights. National commission on status of women and ministry of Human Rights are vibrantly working for the protection of their rights. But it is the need of the hour to implement the existing laws according to their spirit so that they may work at a better workplace.
