LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami chief Senator Sirajul Haq Wednesday said the eviction of the Muslims from Myanmar and the discovery of their mass graves was a scar on the face of the civilised world.
In a statement, the JI leader urged the Ummah and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take pity on the miserable plight of the Muslims of Myanmar and pressurise the United Nations and the Myanmar government to stop their eviction.
He deplored that thousands of the Muslims of Myanmar were moving in boats in seas in search of shelter but no country was ready to provide them refuge. It was unfortunate that Bangladesh, Indonesia and Malaysia had closed their borders to these people and they were being pushed back on gun point into the seas.
He made an impassioned appeal to these governments to help save their lives and provide them food and other facilities.Siraj appreciated Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan’s moral and material support to the Muslims of Myanmar and urged other Muslim rulers to emulate his noble example.
