Peshawar Police recover 20kg crystal meth
PESHAWAR: Police on Wednesday busted a gang of drug dealers and recovered 20kg of crystal meth, officials said.
Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Zahoor Afridi told reporters on Wednesday that the police while acting on a tip-off, signalled a car coming from Darra Adamkhel on the Kohat Road.
The official said the policemen while searching the car (YE-034), recovered 20kg ice drug that was being smuggled to the down country.
The official said that two traffickers, Abdul Rehman and Saida Gul, were arrested. Those arrested confessed during interrogation they were smuggling the drug from a neighbouring country through Balochistan for onward supply to different cities of the country.
The SSP operations said that a special team under SP Saddar Sajjad Khan had been constituted to arrest other members of the network. Meanwhile, the spokesman for the capital city police said that the local police, on the directives of Capital City Police Officer Qazi Jamilur Rehman, have accelerated actions against the drug sellers in the city and arrested several drug dealers during 24 hours.
