Passengers stranded at Sialkot airport
SIALKOT: Thousands of passengers were stranded due to the closure of Sialkot International Airport.
Sialkot airport was closed on the direction of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on February 27. In three days, the schedule of arrival and departure of dozens of flights to and from the Middle East, Europe and the US were disturbed. Thousands of local passengers are stranded at the foreign airports as well as the Sialkot airport. They are facing serious problems like expiry of visas and cancellation of business meetings. Local travel agency owner Arif Khawar Butt said that the current situation between Pakistan and India had caused the closure of air space. He hoped for the early normalisation of the situation as it was best for both the neighbouring countries.
RAIN: The city, cantonment and the adjoining areas received rain on Friday with short intervals. The rain, which started at noon, continued with short intervals till evening.
