Poland hockey team to arrive in April: PHF chief
KARACHI: Poland’s hockey team will visit Pakistan for one week in April to play test matches, PHF president Brig Khalid Sajjad Khokhar told the congress meeting held in Islamabad on Tuesday.
More than 90 members of PHF congress attended the meeting which was presided by Khokhar.He briefed the participants about the performance of Pakistan in the World Cup 2018. He said that the details regarding Pakistan’s dismal performance in the World Cup were yet to come.
“Our doors are open for those who want to work for the progress of the national game,” he said. The PHF president added that Tanzila Amir Cheema had been appointed in the PHF as General Manager Women wing.
He said Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) had allotted Pakistan hockey-5 tournaments, which proved that Pakistan was now considered a safe country for international events.PHF secretary Shahbaz Ahmed also addressed the congress members and vowed that Pakistan hockey would be saved from any penalties because of the failure to play FIH Pro League.He further said that there was no fear of Pakistan being deprived of participation in Olympics.
