Woman, son, mother stabbed to death in Naseerabad

LAHORE : Two women and a four-year-old boy were murdered in their house in Makkah Colony, Naseerabad, on Saturday.

The victims were identified as Rubina Bibi, 32, her four-year-old son Wali Mohammad, and her mother Kaneez Bibi, 56. Police detained three suspects including Rubina's husband Irfan for questioning. Unidentified persons entered the house of the victims unnoticed and stabbed Rubina, her son and mother to death. Police shifted the bodies to morgue for autopsy. No case was registered till the filing of the report.

Three arrested: Lahore police arrested three youths on charges of hurling threats at a cop and trying to crush him under the wheels of their car.

The arrested car riders were identified as Shoaib, Assad Ali and Talha Liaqat. Police arrested the three from Sanda, following a case registered against them in Gulshan Iqbal police station. The cop identified as Rafaqat escaped unhurt in the incident.

outlaws: Cantt division police have arrested 218 criminals and recovered weapons and drugs from them.

Police recovered 23 pistols, 13 rifles, two guns, one dagger, 812 bullets, four kg Charas and 93 liter liquor from their possession. Police also arrested 70 criminals for violating kite flying, one wheeling, price control and loudspeaker acts.

lauded: Lahore DIG Operations Muhammad Waqas Nazir distributed cash awards and commendation certificates (CC-II) today at Police Lines Qilla Gujjar Singh among officers for excellent performance. SP City Syed Ghazanfar Ali, SP Iqbal Town Zubair Nazir and other senior Police officers were also present.

The DIG Operations gave away certificates and cash awards to Sub Inspector Khurshed Ahmad, Head Constable Shehzad Amjad, Muhammad Imran and Ali Imran for arresting drug peddlers including six men and one woman involved in selling drugs and recovered 17kg of Charas, 100gm ICE and 1,590 pills worth Rs4.38million.

Inspector Qamar Abbas, Sub Inspector Ghulam Bari, Trainee ASI Yasir Bashir, ASI Aftab Ahmad, Head Constables Mubasher Hussain, Muhammad Idress, Constable Mazhar Hussain, Mushtaq Ahmad and Muhammad Adnan were granted commendation certificates and cash rewards for exhibiting distinguishing performance in arresting a drug peddler namely Saeed Khan, a resident of Quetta. The team recovered 1kg ICE (drug) from his possession. DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Waqas Nazir also distributed CC-II and cash rewards among Sub Inspector Muhammad Zubair, T/ASI Waqas Ahmad, Constable Ijaz and Nazim for their brilliant performance in arresting a notorious Proclaimed Offenders namely Allah Ditta, a resident of Suggian road wanted by different Police Stations in various criminals cases. Sub Inspector Muhammad Raza, Asad Abbas, Nasir Hameed, Islam, Muhammad Akram, Usman Haider and T/ASI Asad Iqbal, Head Constable Zaheer Ahmad, Constable Shahid Hussain, Qaiser Mehmood, Inayat Ali, Ahmad Namdar and Ghulam Shabbir were granted Commendation Certificates alongwith cash rewards for arresting notorious drug sellers involved in selling narcotics around educational institutions and recovered from them huge quantity of narcotics.

accidents: Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) has responded to 934 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours. Five people have died, whereas 1,059 were injured in these accidents.

Out of the injured 604 with serious injuries were shifted to the hospitals whereas, 450 with minor injuries were provided the first-aid by the rescue teams.
