Huzaifa storms into Pak World Jr tennis final
ISLAMABAD: Top seed and title favourite local lad Huzaifa Abdul Rehman (PAK) stormed into the final of Syed Tajammul Abbas ITF Pakistan World Junior Ranking Tennis Championships with easy straight set win over Bader Alabdullah (Kuwait) at DA PTF Complex Friday.
The talented local lad won 6-2, 6-1 in a match that failed to live up to expectation. Huzaifa displayed excellent tennis and did not allow his opponent to settle down throughout the match. Pakistan boy will now take on Bader Alabdullah in the final Saturday. Bader Alabdullah (KUW) overwhelmed his country man Essa Qabazard 6-4, 6-2 in the second semis.
In the girls’ event, third seed Aysegul Mert (TUR) stunned her opponent Ji Hyng Kang (Korea) in a straight set match by playing powerful forehand cross court and down the line drives. In the second set Ayesgul did not allow her opponent to settle down and won the set without conceding a single game. In the second semi final Arina Valitova (Russian) struggled hard to win her match against Anjalika Kurera (Sri Lanka). In the first set Arina showed her supremacy of powerful ground strokes by playing combination of cross-court and down the line shots.
In the second set Anjalika came back strong and showed tough resistance. Arina retaliated with some excellent powerful shots down the line and broke Anjalika’s game and held on to her own.

Girls singles semi finals: Arina Valitova (RUS) bt Anjalika Kurera (SRI) 6-2, 7-5; Aysegul Mert (TUR) bt Ji Hyun Kang (KOR) 6-2, 6-0.
Girls doubles semi finals: Anjalika Kurera (SRI) & Hanna Seen Ean YIP (MAS) bt Soo Ha Jang (KOR) & Ji Hyun Kang (KOR) 6-2, 4-6, 10-8.
