KP, Punjab enter U-19 hockey semis

ISLAMABAD: Title favourite KP A and Punjab marched into the semi-finals with a thumping 6-0 win against Sindh (B) in the quarter-finals of Inter Provincial Under-19 Hockey at the Shahnaz Sheikh Stadium Thursday.
Usman performed a hat-trick with a goal each coming from Usman Khan, Asad and Jibran Hamza to complete the rout.
KP A is to meet KP B in the semis. The B team got better of Balochistan by 2-1. Zareen and Ismail scored one goal each for winners while Younus scored lone goal for losers.
Two Punjab teams also made it to the semis. Punjab (A) defeated Punjab (C) by 4-2. Zulqarnan, Rizwan Ali, Ghazanfar Ali and Ali Raza scored one goal each for the winning team while one goal each scored by M Rabiaul Hassan and Abdur Rehman for the losing side.
In the last quarter-finals Punjab (B) edged out Sindh (A) 2-1. Muhammad Abdullah and Abuzar scored one goal each for Punjab (B) while Arslam Haidri netted goal for Sindh. Semis will be played Saturday.
