CHAKWAL: City police on Saturday arrested eight Afghans for not having legal documents and residing illegally.
The police conducted a search operation in various areas and arrested Abdul Kareem, Inayatullah, Haji Muhammad, Muhammad Ismail, Muhammad Hassam, Ghulam Rasool, Muhammad Ibrahim and Ghulam Nabi. The police have registered separate cases.
TMO TRANSFERRED: Punjab Local Government Secretary Tariq Masood on Saturday transferred TMO Tariq Mehmood and directed him to report to the Punjab Local Government Board, Lahore, with immediate effect.
TOR Khalil Ahmed has been given additional charge of the TMO till the appointment of new TMO. Earlier, the Local Government secretary visited Chakwal on the order of Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif when a delegation of local MNAs and MPAs met the CM and informed him about alleged highhandedness of the TMO. The secretary conducted an inquiry in which MNA Tahir Iqbal alleged that the TMO was involved in corruption and was approving maps of plazas and business markets illegally after taking bribe.
