Siraj asks India to withdraw troops from Held Kashmir
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Senator Sirajul Haq on Tuesday said that the PTI government had demonstrated its short-sightedness by not inviting the political leadership on the occasion of Saudi Crown Prince’s visit to the country.
Talking to media after addressing the JI central workshop for party workers at Mansoora, he said Saudi Crown Prince was the distinguished guest of Pakistan and not of any political party, and if entire national leadership had been present there to welcome the royal guest, it would have enhanced the honour of the government itself. Sirajul Haq said Saudi Crown Prince had started his campaign against corruption from his own home as a result of which an amount of $137 billion had been deposited to the public exchequer. On the other hand, he said, the PTI government had not been able to recover even a single penny of the plundered wealth during the last six months. He said as long as the rulers did not begin this campaign from their own home, the general public would consider it a mere formality.
Referring to the threats from Indian Prime Minister Modi and Indian army chief to Pakistan, Sirajul Haq said if India committed a blunder this time, its own existence would be in danger and it would become a part of history.
He said if India wanted to escape disaster, it should withdraw its troops form Kashmir immediately or else it would meet the fate the Soviet Union and the US had met in Afghanistan. He said New Delhi had come down to threats against this country after the killing of its 50 troops whereas the Indian troops in Held Kashmir had martyred lakhs of innocent Kashmiris so far. He said there was an armed Indian soldier outside every single house in Held Kashmir. The Indian army had deprived thousands of Kashmiri youths of their eyesight while dozens of Kashmiris were being martyred daily.
He said that if New Delhi did not give up its intransigence it would end up in total disaster. Commenting on government’s performance, Sirajul Haq said if the government assessed its performance with reference to its election manifesto it would find a clear failure.
He alleged that the government ha4untries but no relief had been given to the masses. He said millions of educated and talented young men were unemployed and more than 60 percent of the cultivable land was lying uncultivated and none of the governments so far had planned to bring this land under the plough and to create jobs for the youth.
Sirajul Haq said the PPP, PML-N and PTI joined hands to protect the secular agenda. He said that the government had yet to fulfil the promise of getting released Dr Aafia Siddiqui from the US jail.
Meanwhile, JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch described Saudi Crown Prince’s visit to the country as most productive and has welcomed the announcement regarding the release of the Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia jails. Talking to different delegations at Mansoora, he said Pakistani nation was also expecting the withdrawal of the additional fee on Haj and Umrah.
He stressed upon the government to take the Indian threats seriously. He said there was great tension in India because of elections, and Indian Prime Minister could take any decision in order to save his clear defeat.
