Seven injured in Mardan grenade explosion
MARDAN: Seven persons, including three brothers and two children, sustained injuries in a hand-grenade explosion in the limits of Toru Police Station on Tuesday, police said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Sheikh Maltoon Town circle, Janzada Khan told The News that three brothers identified as Haroon, Majid and Rashid were collecting firewood on the Ring Road near Qasim Bridge in Mardan when they found a hand-grenade.
He added they took the grenade home where it exploded when they tried to remove its safety pin. Seven persons were injured in the explosion. Some of the injured were identified as Haroon, Majid, Rashid, Ali and a girl named Khushnuma. The injured were rushed to the Mardan Medical Complex, where doctors said they were in a stable condition.
