KP fight back to beat Sindh in U19 hockey
ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakh-tunkhwa (B) overcame Sindh (A) 2-1 in the Inter-Provincial Under-19 Hockey Championship underway at the Shehnaz Sheikh Hockey Stadium in Rawalpindi on Monday.
KP (B) came from behind to win the match. Noman Khan netted the opener for Sindh (A) at the outset of the match. Zareen made it 1-1 for KP in the 22nd minute with Muzail scoring all important winner in the 43th minute.
Punjab (D) outplayed FATA 10-2 goals. For winning team, Fasiul Hussnain and Muhammad Yasir scored four and three goals respectively while Bilal Akram, Waqarul Hassan and Arslan Ali scored one goal each. Muhammad Zafran and Faizan netted a goal each for FATA.
In another match, Sindh (B) and Gilgit Baltistan played 2-2 draw. Masroor Abbas and Irfan Awan scored once each for Gilgit Baltistan while Ghulam Mustafa netted brace for Sindh (B).
In the day’s last match, AJK beat Islamabad 5-1 goals. For winning team, Ahtesham scored two goals while one goal each was netted by Shahzaib, Zahoor Hussain and Zainul Abdin. Azharullah was on target for Islamabad.
